If fear I may have made a rod for my own back with this “plugging well known artists`s remix competitions” thing, but we will persist.. because its a GOOD rod to carry about.
Hot on the heels of the Charlie Puth remix competition, comes one from Tiesto & Ava Max. Fair to say, pretty well known names, so yes, they get a “plug of the week” too. Hope to see more competitions like this involving artists of such prominence.

This was a great find today too, and quite timely.
Always been a bit of a fan of Borgeous and this tune especially. Had you given me this track at 170 bpm 25 years ago, I`d have played the living sh out of it.

Getting the plug of the week in early this month.. just landed in an old folder of stuff due for the ALL A-Z page, and in the said folder, was this track, from a remix competition, from late 2020, that utterly and completely got overlooked. It must have. Solid pop track, solid production (for a remix comp tune lol) and a half decent video to go with it.
So, curious, I dug deeper. Couldnt find much at all apart from the original Instagram remix comp page here and the single on Beatport here.
Annnnnnd, the video has only gotten 24k views. uh? what happened there? Now either my A&R brain cell has gone off the tracks or this ones seriously gone under the radar.

Just been going thru a few tunes to take to my Dj pal tonight, admittedly a great excuse simply to talk shop till the wee hours, pretending we know what were on about, and get drunk, and catch Covid, and later break a bone or two with some overly excessive moves to the Dirty Dancing megamix.. well its either that, or stay in and pop a few tops and post on the site all night.. Might even try both !

Some of you might recall me mentioning I was going to start bringing a few remixes and whatavu to the front page for a bit of a plug.. well, here goes.
So a new tune to my ears, maybe to yours, and thought it would be nice and timely to introduce this mix to anybody else who nearly missed it.. like yours truly ! Im a month behind on this. Ah well.
Always been a bit partial to a slice of the old Purple Disco Machine vibe over the last few years or so, got to admit..and fair to say, this remix is made with more than a few bits from the Human League “Dont You Want Me” multitrack.. and is put together, faithfully, and with much humour. Which I like alot.. (keep listening to at least after the bridge.. if you havent smiled by then, you wont get it).
But anyways, quite a benchmarky sort of thing here IMO, so getting the award of the first ever “Plug Of The Week” on the site was a no-brainer, cos, now you know what you/we/them/everyone has to match or attempt to better in 2022 if youre going to attempt a “Multitrack Remix”.
And its saved me a job.. Nicely done PDM.
So looks like PDM has quite possibly knocked it out of the park with this mix, which, on a tune as big as DYWM is pretty much a prerequisite. Go big or go home time.. 5 stars or dont bother lol.. no middle ground.
Give it a listen, deffo worth a play at any parties this holiday season.. very much a “surprise a few people” sort of tune.
Amazing what you can do with a few Rock Band stems tho. Amazing..Truly Amazing. or even, Amazingly Amazing !!
