For folk new to the multitracks scene, its probably a bit of a surprise to find that 9 times out of 10 that most original multitracks usually sound nothing like the originally released full bells and whistles “radio” or “album” versions. All the right bits are usually there, but not always in the right places or at the correct volume levels, or there may be totally dry stems even. Maybe when true stereo sounds came along, there was some hope, but again, thats not always what panned out, and therefore a new breed of “Remixer” or a “Masterer” was needed to fill the void.
This issue even created a “thing” which you may now be familiar with.. and as technology movesd on, we were treated to a multitude of new versions of our favourite songs as an “official remaster”.. which then was released on a CD or these days to the web as a polished to the Nth degree version of your favourite hit record ! An approach that continues to this day.
Michael Jackson`s “Bad” was one of those such stem sets/multitracks that never did sound much like the OG version, but now there is a mastered version to peruse. This one is obviously fan made, but comes with a bunch of likes and great comments, so in this day and age, I guess we can say if a remaster has had the community`s “thumbs up”, its good to go.. and land on CR lol..

When an AI “multitrack” starts doing the rounds that confuses people to the extent that they thought it was a “real” multitrack, its probably fair to say the creator has done a good job. If you are totally confusing folk and amazing folk at the same time, then surely that is the ballpark to aim at when making these things? Fairplay. But 53 tracks? C`mon. Jordy. Please stop. 😉
So if your interested in seeing how far AI stem splitting programs have gotten in the hands of someone who obviously knows what theyre doing, with only some stems from a Rock Band rip or two, look no further than the “multitrack” below.
