TOP 100 “ACQUIRED” MULTITRACKS 2020
Just been prepping up what was going to be the New Years post, on what we have actually achieved in the short time the site has been running.. well that was the plan.
Looking back we kinda did OK. The initial idea was to grab maybe 4 or 5 files a month “from wherever” and build up a bit of a library of rare and hard to find multitracks that were previously not exactly in the hands of musicians and music lovers, but, all the same, I`m pleased to say we exceeded expectations, and below is a list that is just about, give a take a few I`ve missed, or discounted on purpose, 100 packs. a nice round number.. Not a bad haul.
So currently working on yet another new page & this list & I`m hoping to edit this post “on the fly” the next 20-odd days. There will be download links added over the coming month, and there will be some info added as to what is going to be released, and whereabouts on the site it will be living. All via one post. (this one). Some could be released soon, some could be next year, some, maybe never. It depends on Santa`s mood but mainly from external factors tbh. Thought it best to let everyone in the scene know whats coming in case they want to leak/trade a few things beforehand.. some people seem to like that, so here`s ya heads up 😉

Fuser Released !
Been an interesting few days behind the scenes.. amongst other things I`ve been dusting off the old streaming equipment, just in case its needed anytime soon, and doing the old updating software you havent used for about 4 years kinda thing, because.. Fuser is coming out. And by the time you read this it probably will be out. Not that I`m clock watching. And even though I`m trying to avoid getting a copy of this for fun, I probably will end up getting it for research purposes.
You see, Ive been viewing a few streams of this game on Twitch recently.. for research purposes, dont you know, and everytime, there`s something new that catches my eye.. to the extent of maybe just a level below “Jaw Dropping”.. or at least somewhere `round that level. Due to the said “research” I get the feeling that this game is probably going to be even better than I expected.. and looks like theres some serious depth to it in places. Your main thoughts as you play through I guarantee will be “oh, it does that does it, ok, thats cool” followed by “whoa, you can do that too”? ect..
As you can see I`m dying to spoil it for everyone. But I cant. Just cant. And for sure I dont want to even try and explain all the mechanics used to play 4 different parts of a song together with 4 parts of any of about 100 songs and how they magically all gel together (nearly) with all the pitch correction and key change malarky going on.
Lets just say it looks like a few programs like Recycle, Melodyne & Mixed In Key all had a bit of a party and gave birth the morning after. To something.. And if you are familiar with Harmonix`s previous outing “Dropmix”, you`ll know all about that wizardry already. “All now at the touch of a button”.. as some reviews would say.
The good news is that every review Ive also read about Fuser is pretty much clueless as to what this “game” is actually all about partly because the review copies are limited to certain modes and songs (I believe), but mainly because they simply wont have had time to learn the game and what it becomes later down the line when you have gained a very deep knowledge of the entire software. You might even need some skill in places. And a bit of studio knowledge wont hurt either,by the looks of things.
I`ll leave it there for now, tempted to spoil further but there`s heaps of streams on Twitch atm, so you can get a better idea from watching a few of those if you wish, but every glance will contain a spoiler or two, so thats up to you. I`ll leave this first post about Fuser as short as poss, but here are a few quotes from Harmonix themeselves I copied and pasted from some recent Twitch chats..

And it is a bit of a first because I cant recall any other video game soundtrack appearing in stem form before .. ever ! So a real first here. Wish there were more out there, but in reality, this is probably a bit of a one off.. Unless I missed the memo. I know there`s a few bits here and there, but a full game in bits? News to me.
Does make you wonder tho, what is actually out there in stem form, (from video games).. I`m sure many of you who like your games “Soundtracks” would say the same..and want a fair few yourself. Personally, I`d die for Nintendo`s Splatoon 1 Soundtrack in stem form.. (The best EVER game soundtrack..bought the CD even!) tho I might pass on Splatoon 2 (I wouldn`t really).. But just in case anyone has any game stems similar to these Sonic ones, well, you know what to do by now 😉

Felix – Don’t You Want Me (42 Stems + Remix Parts)(WAV-AIFF)
Going to take just a little time to bring what has been decribed as a “classic” for years, to the fore.. Always was a big fan of this tune..I played it out loads, that`s for sure.. from what I can remember of 1992. And this was always one of those tracks I always wanted to remix, but never actually got round to doing.. The usual yearly thoughts still run round the grey matter thinking “Is this a good year to do that remix of Felix”.. and I`m starting to think it might be.
Also noticed, and this has nothing to do with things one bit, that the stems for this were only previously available as MP3, and I was sure I had better. Well, found em.
The MP3 pack also had surprisingly good numbers for such a low Q pack, so they may be a little remixing rumble around this song already.. and hey, if not, let`s create some !

Clean Bandit Ft. Kesha – Tick Tock Tik Tok (Mash Up)
Rule number 1 of Mash Up making: Always check any obvious pairing so you get “a great title” for your Mash Up from the off. It must be “witty” in some way. That`s the rule. Then we hope and pray the acapella and instrumental could maybe work together in some way at least, and that both the key & bpm is somewhat similar. In that order.
Maybe thats just me (lol) but I couldn`t help but notice Clean Bandit have a new track out called Tick Tock, and as the instrumental recently landed, there was only one pella that was going to get checked within minutes. Got to say I wasn`t holding out much hope because, a, I`m not that lucky, and b, it just wouldn`t be that easy on first try.. would it ? Never works like that.
Well, call me Mr Surprised-a-lot cos it kinda did work out. Even though the Clean Bandit track is 101 Bpm and Kesha`s vocal was 120 Bpm, they do sort of go. At 105 Bpm. It`s not perfect, but it`ll pass in a bar when everyones had a few drinks! which frankly, is usually the yardstick best worked to on the cheesy stuff.
Dunno how long it`ll last on Soundcloud, but here it is for a quick listen if you want.

One last thing.. I`m sure I had the stems for Kesha`s Tik Tok, as in 100% sure, but I cant for the life of me find them.I usually double/triple back up, but not in this case it seems. Now I know they were rare back in the day, and I think they may still be now, but luckily, I know there`s a few old skool Kesha fans in our midst, so here`s a request for the Tik Tok stems if anyone has a copy? Myself and the community would appreciate.ty.
One other last thing, [DISCLAIMER]: I was in no way butthurt/jealous or inspired into making this Mash Up by the last most excellent “official mash up” by Clean Bandit, which I really really liked, which, when I played it to someone they said ” sounds like you did it”. So I wasn`t butthurt at all. Not one bit. just sayin 🙂

Just a little plug for a song that had over 2000 remixes submitted in a recently held Remix Competition.. 2000 !
The winners remixes (Fishimora, Blender and Alessandro) were officially released a few days ago, and from what I`ve heard, they`re rather good, and kinda transformed a track I was 50/50 on, into something I now like. Hate it when that happens.
The Blender remix was mainly to blame. Big club drums and a prominent vocal & piano gets me every time.

70`s & 80`s HQ RB Rips
Funny that I came across these RB Rips recently with what we`re attempting with the new buying a few stems idea.
Back in the day when Rockband rips were all the rage, I knew a guy, as you do, who made me some high quality Rock Band DLC rips. At a price of course. I can even remember how much they cost ! $10 each. Gotta be 10 years ago I got these, and I think only a few so far might have made it on to the net.. I`m hoping these are all of them, but I`ll have to double check.
Anyway, long story short, These rips were some of the very first ones to be ripped in such high quality. The day the DLC came out, my guy ripped em, and I got them. They were and still could be quite rare rips because everybody had expanded OGGS and MOGGS at the time and most didnt know the difference in quality. If it was a WAV it was good. These will all scan in Spek as true 44.1k- 16&24 bits. Please keep these to yourselves also. More goodies for your “rare” folder !
