Well, it looks like its that time of year again when the stems and multitracks from a very well known musical superstar leak all over the place ! Four years ago, just after the launch of ClubRemixer as it goes, if you remember, we had “the big Michael Jackson multitrack leak“. And now the worlds current Numero Uno recording artiste, Taylor Swift, somehow, has managed to release her stems and multitracks out into the wild.
How and why these got out we will have to leave to conjecture. My current working theory on this is that our Taylor Swift Masterpost was looking pretty dire compared to everybody else`s and needed some oooomph. Well, it just got some !
All good tho. Kinda thinking this recent leak of “early” Taylor Swift material, currently consisting of 12 stems packs and multitracks, acapellas & instrumentals, is rather a big win for the fans, and the stems & multitracks scene too I suppose. And just in time to go hand in hand with Taylor being made Time`s “Person of the Year” and getting the word “Swiftie” officialy into the dictionary.
Quite the coincidence.
Must say while I`m here, I`m quite looking forward to reading about the reactions from her fans after to listening to a stem set or two, which could be for the very first time. With Taylor Swift “releasing” material in this manner, I`d hope many folk will surely voice their new found enthusiasm on the web (via socials ect) for a newly found musical format, which they probably never knew existed. I`d bet there will be plenty of “multitrack virgins” out there discovering stems for the first time this holiday season via this little leak too, and that is a grand thing. And now all those dedicated “Swifties” will have a new way to listen to their fave artist, and maybe along the way they will find some other artists stems to dig into, and possibly help the genre/format grow. Stems are an officially recognised genre/format these days arent they? lol.
